Return of the Black Student Union
The Black Student Union (BSU) is back after a 4-year hiatus. BSU meetings are held on Thursdays 12:30-1:30 p.m. in room 1102. The current president, Frenchie Loveheart, encourages all students to come to the meetings and contact him if students have any questions at [email protected].
Ceramics exhibit hits SSC gallery
SCC’s art instructor Matt Allison’s “Shibui— One Westerner’s Interpretation” ceramics exhibit is currently displayed in the 1000 building until Feb. 28. Allison shows his interpretation of modern Japanese aesthetics in ceramics in this exhibit.

The Tutto Mozart! Opera workshop will be held on Feb. 21-22 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. in the campus theater, building 1600. The workshop is showcasing singers doing excerpts from some of Mozart’s operas. Tickets are $10 for SCC students $18 for general admission.
Life improvement workshops on campus
Counseling Services is putting on free workshops available for all SCC students, staff and faculty. Career and Major Choices will be held Feb. 19, 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in room 5229. More than the Mirror: Maintaining a positive body image in an image obsessed society will be held Feb. 27, 12- 1 p.m.
